Dr. JoAnne Rochon is one of the few dentists in Canada who have been trained in High Speed Braces technology, a state-of-the-art technique that allows patients to improve their smiles in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional braces. She is also an inventor, and has extensive knowledge about the up-and-coming technologies surrounding this important work.
With High Speed Braces, Dr. Rochon can give her patients a smile makeover quickly and safely without the damage caused by porcelain veneers, which require grinding down of otherwise healthy teeth and replacement every few years. It was her passion for learning and caring for her patients that led to her discovering High Speed Braces. This option has only recently been made available in Canada, though it has existed as a popular option in Europe and the United States for more than twenty years.
Her passions extend into numerous other directions as well. Not only does Dr. Rochon have a degree in dentistry from the University of Laval in Quebec City, she also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa. She puts this science-intensive background to good use in her work not only in the field of dentistry, but also in the development of her own line of skin-care products. These products are designed specifically with tissue hydration and cellular function in mind, for healthier and more youthful-looking skin.
Her PRFX line of products is sold in Hummingbird Medi Spas all across Canada.
Dr. Rochon has been a practicing dentist since 1993, and is partners in life and practice with Dr. Patrick Racicot. She describes it as a “high-tech practice with a high-touch feel.” Patients have described Dr. Rochon as a passionate person who cares deeply about her craft, and who also is personally invested in the health and well-being of all of her patients. She believes that lifelong learning allows her to bring the very latest of technologies into her practice. In addition to her three university degrees, she has accomplished the following courses in the process of advancing her education:
- Powerprox Masters Series Courses on six-month braces and lingual braces
- Fast Braces R. Course, Dallas TX. Dr. Tony Viagis
- Shatkin F.I.R.S.T. Mini Implants
- Advanced training for mini implants at the CMI Institute
- Comprehensive orthodontic course with Dr. Richard Litt
- Tip-edge orthodontics course on comprehensive orthodontics treatment
Dr. Rochon is also currently in the process of completing an Associate Fellowship of the Academy of GP Orthodontics.
When it comes to Canadian-based dentists, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more educated and innovative orthodontist around!
