Veneers are made out of porcelain and are a wonderful way to correct minor tooth discoloration, chipping and staining. They are custom-made and custom-fitted to best fit your smile, and are very thin. Veneers are bonded to your natural teeth without causing damage to the actual tooth’s structure. This minimally invasive option is ideal for patients who suffer from these small anomalies.
Caring for veneers is super easy, too! All you have to do is take care of them like you would your own natural teeth. Brush, floss and rinse with mouthwash. Done!
At Ottawa Braces, this procedure can usually be done in two appointments.
During the first appointment, your teeth will be prepared for the veneers. This includes shaping and then making an impression of the prepared teeth. The impression will be sent to a specialized lab where each veneer will be hand-crafted by a masterful technician.
Doctor Rochon will also take photographs of your teeth to get the accurate color to send to the laboratory. It is important that your veneers look natural, and we take every step possible to make sure that you are pleased with the results. In most cases, our good doctor will create acrylic or composite provisional veneers, which will be temporarily cemented in place for about three weeks while the lab makes the final restorations to your permanent veneers.
